4th Post Painting - Sat. November 13th, 2016 - Calle Ocampo

Rainy Saturday Morning

Saturday morning turned out to be drizzzzzzly!  A light rain started to fall around 6 a.m.
I thought perhaps the kids would not want to venture out into the rain....boy, was I wrong!

We started out with a Color Mixing class.  All the kids wanted to learn how to mix the colors
they would require for completing their designs.

At 8:55 a.m. the kids started to arrive at 6 Esquinas, their spirits not at all daunted by the rain.

Some of them wanted to know if we could start early, to get a jump on the post painting.

Adrenaline ran high, but they buckled down and listened....and learned.

Color class almost done, they lined up to get their paints, brushes, and other materials.

And off they went to claim their posts.

Danny wanted to paint his favorite monster.

This group was totally immersed in their favorite foods.  Someone must have skipped
breakfast to get to the Post Painting on time.

Georgeanna worked beautifully with the kids.
Her Spanish flawless and her English even better!

Moms also helped paint...a family affair.

Lulu adds the finishing touches.

One of our youngest painters, Magaly, knew exactly what she wanted to paint.

Magda is caught by surprise, always with a smile on her face.

Girl Power Rules!

Beauty blooms before our eyes.

But the boys would not be left behind and painted with passion.

Messages of love and peace abound.

Almost done.

Even with the rain the sun shone through....be it in paint or in the sky
It was appreciate.

3rd Post Painting - Saturday Nov. 5th, 2016 - Calle Ocampo

Everything starts with an idea.  Our kids showed up early at 6 Esquinas,
with ideas coming out of their ears!

Their designs were drawn and ready to be painted on the pueblo posts....but first we had a short, color mixing class to make sure their designs would be painted beautifully.

One quick picture of the group and they were off!

Beginnings can be tough, but our kids rose to the challenge.

As I strolled Hidalgo and Ocampo streets, making sure the kids had all they needed, I was struck with the magic being created before my eyes.  Each team painted different images, all amazing in their own way.

The empty posts morphed into colorful, lush creations.

Even Raul got into the spirit of the day and painted.
