6th Post Painting - Sat. Nov. 26th, 2016 - Ajijic Jalisco, Mexico

Our kids gathered early on Saturday.  We met outside of Farmacias Guadalajara.

Some even brought their best pals (note Canello in backpack).

A few posts that had been started the previous week were completed.

And a few were inspired by our posts paintings.

Even Jaime got into the mix.

We'd like to thank the 5th and 6th grade classes from
Marcos Castellanos Elementary School, Matutino

for all their fine and hard work.

5th Post Painting Saturday Nov. 19th, 2016 - Ajijic

On a brisk Saturday morning the children started to arrive in Ajijic Plaza

This Saturday we we hosting the children from Francisco Marquez Elementary, Matutino.

 

I always ask the children to bring their designs and drawings with them for reference.

Valentina went one step further and brought her canvass in progress!

As is usually the case, we started with a Color Mixing class in the plaza.

The practice of mixing the colors you need using the 3 primary colors is always a bit magical.

With materials in hand and color theory in their heads the kids headed out

to select their favorite posts.  This Saturday we were painting along 

Constitucion, east of Marcos Castellanos.

Valentina expertly draws her design.

 Once the location is selected the kids need no more encouragement

to work and paint.

The holidays are right around the corner, so a holiday post needed to be painted.

We were fortunate to have the assistance of several volunteers this Saturday.

The volunteers work with the kids to guarantee their safety on the streets, 

bring them supplies as needed or give guidance if asked.

Calling All Adult Helpers for our Saturday morning post painting sessions

We are needing adult helpers during our Saturday morning post painting sessions.

The adult helpers monitor the kids while they paint posts on the Ajijic streets.

They also bring the kids paint, water, brushes...whatever they require, during

the painting sessions.

If you can spare an hour or two to assist us in our beautification project,

Our 3 Youngest Painters

Free Medical Clinics - Sunday November 13th, 2016 - Marcos Castellanos Elementary School - Ajijic Mexico

On a rainy, drizzly, gray Sunday morning they came.  Some people arrived early at 9 a.m., making sure they would be seen by the medical professionals.  Young people, 3rd generation, adults...they were all represented.

The need was present, and so were the all volunteer crews from Fundacion Cambiando Jalisco, Friends of Bebo and Grupo Axixic Michicihualli.  Collectively we were able to offer the free medical clinics in Ajijic.

The free mobile mammography units arrived and were set up in front of Marcos Castellanos Elementary School.

The doctors, technicians and their assistants arrived and quickly set up their work areas.

Soon we were ready to see patients.

People poured in shortly after 10 a.m.

The registration bustle began.

Seguro Popular was also represented and registered people throughout the day.

As noontime drew near and the skies cleared the crowd grew.

Johnathan learned a few lessons while he waited.
