On a brisk Saturday morning the children started to arrive in Ajijic Plaza
This Saturday we we hosting the children from Francisco Marquez Elementary, Matutino.
I always ask the children to bring their designs and drawings with them for reference.
Valentina went one step further and brought her canvass in progress!
As is usually the case, we started with a Color Mixing class in the plaza.
The practice of mixing the colors you need using the 3 primary colors is always a bit magical.
With materials in hand and color theory in their heads the kids headed out
to select their favorite posts. This Saturday we were painting along
Constitucion, east of Marcos Castellanos.
Valentina expertly draws her design.
Once the location is selected the kids need no more encouragement
to work and paint.
The holidays are right around the corner, so a holiday post needed to be painted.
Raul creates another work of art.
Laura and Jaime retouch an existent painted post
Dona Esperanza is outfitted and ready to assist the children
We were fortunate to have the assistance of several volunteers this Saturday.
The volunteers work with the kids to guarantee their safety on the streets,
bring them supplies as needed or give guidance if asked.
Maria and Evelyn show off their almost finished work.
Gracias.
We'd like to thank the children of Francisco Marquez Elementary, Matutino.
